Brass Instruments

Brass instruments are played by sending air through your lips, causing them to vibrate. The vibrations of your lips are amplified which means made louder by the rest of the instrument. Here's a fun video about the brass instrument family and some fun arts and crafts projects for making your own brass instrument. Click here to see the video.

Woodwind Instruments

These instruments are played using wooden reeds which vibrate like the saxophone or sending air across a mouthpiece like the flute. Here's another cool video about how woodwind instruments are played with a fun project where you can make your own woodwind instrument out of a carrot! Click here to see the video.

String Instruments

Stringed instruments are played by plucking or bowing the string like a violin. Guitars and ukuleles would also be considered string instruments! Here's a great video about how stringed instruments make sound and how you can make your own! Click here to see the video.

Percussion Instruments

Percussion instruments are any instruments you strike like drums, shake like maracas, or scrape like scrapers. Did  you know pianos are also considered percussion instruments because when you press a key, a hammer connected to that key strikes a string? Here's a great video about percussion instruments and how to make your own! Click here to see the video.
