Fun Activities

These are some fun activities to help you listen and respond to music around you and hopefully hear something new!

What music do the people around you listen to?

  1. Ask your parents/guardians what kind of music they enjoy. Listen to it, and see if you enjoy it too! My dad always listened to classic rock and as I explored his tastes I realized I liked it too!

  2. Ask them how they listen to music. Do they have a collection? Do they listen to the radio? Did you know we used to record music on disks, kind of like the ones you put in a game console and could only listen to our favorite songs if we had the right disk?!

Make your own instrument

You don't need an actual musical instrument to play music, you can make your own instruments out of household objects! For example, how can you play music using a can? What are other household items that can be used in musical ways?
